St. John Primitive Baptist Church is pleased to announce the genesis of The M.M Gaines Scholarship Fund.
Eligibility for this scholarship is open to any Graduating High School Senior who:
- Has been accepted and/or enrolled as a first-time freshman in this 2025-2026 Summer or Fall semester at an accredited College or University.
- Is a member of St. John Primitive Baptist Church Delray.
- Is the child of an active* member of St John Delray, and is an active participant in the youth ministry (Kingdom Builders) or any ministry in the Church.
- Has a GPA of 2.5 or greater
All applicants must be available to be interviewed by the scholarship committee.
Applications must be filled out in its entirety.
To ensure your eligibility for this scholarship, you must submit the following:
- A fully completed application
- Certified copy of your high school transcript - last 3 & 1⁄2 years (for official use only)
- Copy of SAT or ACT test scores
- A letter (written by student) giving insight about you are as a person and explaining what it would mean to you to receive this scholarship.
- A photograph of yourself
- One (1) reference letter
- Admission letter from an accredited College / University
Each applicant will be interviewed by the scholarship committee. Please be prepared to answer questions that will give reflection on your qualifications and character.

April 1, 2025 - Deadline to submit scholarship application
April 13, 2025 - Interviews will be held this week. Candidates will be sent a date to attend an interview via ZOOM.
April 27, 2025 - Scholarship recipients announced during the Morning Worship Service at 10AM.
May 18, 2025 - Scholarship recipients presentation during the Morning Worship Service at 10AM.
